A few nights ago the alarm on my 02gt wouldnt stop going off though out the night. It finally stopped going off and I lost interest in it untill the next morning when my battery was completely dead. I got it to jump and took it for a drive. When I got back I turn the key and pull it out but the car didn't shut off.

I unhooked the battery and turned to key over to kill it. When the car is running and I can turn the key all the way to accesories and nothing happens. I can even take the key all the way out. Only thing that shuts off are the headlamps. So... something for a service tech or something simple?

Agreed with the other thread. There should be a main power relay, or something along those lines. Just pull relays one at a time until the car shuts off, and then replace that relay. Let us know if the problem is solved.
 
I ran it up to the dealer last week and it ended up when my system was installed they drilled through my wiring harness. Had to rerun close to 40 wires. Now that the weather is starting to get wet and nasty it corroded them all together giving most of everything constant power from the battery. Thats what drained my battery that night and when I jumped it everything went crazy. Had to repace the ignition switch and cylinder too.

Good thing I didnt have to pay for all those repairs...
