Glove Box door will not open

I have a 2004 Grand Prix and cannot get the glove box open. I've tried everything and think that the latch may be broke. I did verify that it is unlocked. Is there a way to get it open without destroying the door?

I Even went to the extent of using a screwdriver lightly to pry and it didn't open. I pushed on it pulled it, nothing. If I could at least take it off somehow, but I couldn't find any screws holding the hinge on to take it off.

Try punching it. It's fixed a number of things for me in the past couple weeks. I'm actually not kidding.
