Getting annoyed by the "small shift when switching from drive to reverse"

Ok Ive been getting this annoying "shift" I guess you could call it when switching from reverse to drive. No shift when going to par. I've changed the tranny mount and the lower motor mount. What else could it be? Possibly the top dogbone mounts?

Re: Getting annoyed by the "small shift when switching from drive to reverse"

"This shift" is a very vauge discription. What exactly is happening?

Re: Getting annoyed by the "small shift when switching from drive to reverse"

you are suppose to feel the car enter the gear, so with you foot on the brake you will feel it enter the gear and put a load on the motor.

Re: Getting annoyed by the "small shift when switching from drive to reverse"

It's like the motor is shifting harder I guess. It's not like it was at first, at first you could feel it but it seems like the engine is moving harder when going to reverse

Re: Getting annoyed by the "small shift when switching from drive to reverse"

Is it serious? Like should I be worried?

Re: Getting annoyed by the "small shift when switching from drive to reverse"

Every GP I've owned has gone into reverse a little harder than other gears. I think its just the way the motor sits.

Are you just noticing this or has it been happening for a long time?

Re: Getting annoyed by the "small shift when switching from drive to reverse"

I swear it seems like it's gotten worse. Is there anything I can check?

Trans fluid, make sure its full, without bubbles and of a trans fluid consitancy rather than like coolant.

Re: Getting annoyed by the "small shift when switching from drive to reverse"

Umm?? "trans like consistancy"? Its full. Trans shifts fine.

You described it as a SHIFT issue, but it shifts fine? mkay, good luck cheif.

Re: Getting annoyed by the "small shift when switching from drive to reverse"

You sure that everything is tight and stuff isn't hitting or rubbing on other stuff? Downpipe to manifold is tight and not hitting the sway bad? Try rocking the car back and forth without it started while its in park and see how much the engine moves.

Re: Getting annoyed by the "small shift when switching from drive to reverse"

Anywho....back to those who want to help :). I think I narrowed down a few things. First off my tie rod ends are shot and also my control arms are busted to. Could this be the issue?

Just for future reference, the better your attitude is, the more people will be willing to help you. Also, the more descriptive you can be about your issues, the better answers those willing to help you can give.
