• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Get the Funk out!

Has anyone else experienced this?
When spraying the windshield using the wiper squirter's I get an awful stench like rotten eggs. Upon further examination it turns out to be the wiper fluid in the reservoir. I have flushed it out and all is well for about 4 months then it comes back again. This has been going on for about 4 years...any ideas? I have tried different fluid to no avail.

No dead critters I can see, replaced the tank 2 years ago when it froze and cracked on a trip to Michigan. It is very odd and was just wondering if I'm the only one this has happens to?

Happen to me in my Pickup truck once, turned out to be a dead frog in the resivor.
But you say nothing in it, I would put a new resivor in, and change the hoses.
Or, maybe someone is putting somthing in there you do not know about!

I am wondering if wiper fluid breaks down over time and creates mold, I don't think i have enemies that would stink bomb my wiper fluid but you never know..lol

Mold would have a hard time living in ethanol. Yeast, however, can survive in up to 15% concentration. Pour in some everclear or denatured alcohol (or hell, hit a lab supply store and pick up some absolute ethanol - wooo 200 proof!), replace the hoses.

Thanks for the replies, I will try and replace the hoses and run some Georgia Grain (home made):th_winking: alcohol thru the system.
