gerbile like noise/ squealing when i turn heater on

So when I turn my heater on in my car there's a very weird noise like a squealing guinea pig or something. Very strange happens at first then goes away after a few mins if warming up and sometimes comes back.. what is this??? Also only setting 5 works please help. thanks!

Blower motor resistor for the "5 speed" problem.


Try lubing up the blower motor bearing or whatever, it might help it stop making noise.

exactly what cam said....if you only feel like doing the motor once...just replace it and the resistor now..but that is up to you

Ok thanks. What do I need to buy to fix the problem all together? New blower motor? Sorry never exp. This with my grand am

just a new blower motor resistor....and its just easier to do the whole blower motor itself
