General noob questions

I have a 2002 GP GTP Supercharged and I want to know how do I tell if it has L67 or L32 parts and what generation supercharger it is? if it will help with pics I can post them. The motor was swapped before I got it and threw a rod. Thanks in advance.

on top of the supercharger there will be a hole for a bolt to hold the fuel rail down, like right in the middle of the fins. If its not there, you probably have a gen V. Look up pictures.

which is this then? Gen 3?

Well if thats the original SC that was on the motor then its a Series II 3800. Theres not really that big of a difference between the L32 and L67 besides pistons and connecting rods. IF you have the L67, youre good. If its the L32, even better.

I wondered if the colored pulley might be a mod. This motor was worke on before it ws bought so I dont know what is original.

If that is a smaller pulley it may have played a part in sending your motor to its grave seeing it appears you still have a stock exhaust manifold i'd assume the pulley is the only mod. You'll at least want to throw some headers on it after you rebuild it to prevent damage to your rebuilt engine

Yes.

L32 rods are powder forged. L32 blower is a gen V vs III, mostly a larger intake tract, more ideal rotor pack mounting location and rotor coating.

ok cool i didnt know that. thanks! i was going to do an l67 build someday but i guess i will be doing an l32 build instead haha. this is probly a really dumb question haha but i am still a noob :P ....whats the easiest way to tell an l32 from an l67?

If its still complete? The blower, it won't have a fuel rail mounting spot on the top of it.

If its stripped to the short block? You'll never know unless you drop the oil pan and inspect the rods.
