Gen V Swap, Noisey Blower Now

Hi Guys. I just upgraded my supercharger to the Gen V unit, in which I purchased used from Morad Parts Company. The blower is full of fresh fluid, but ever since started has a noise. The noise is best described as: unusual rattle/electric motor sound. It increases and decreases with RPM, and does not go away. I tested with a scope and the sound is more pronounced in the nose than the case.
Could this be the coupler?
Could this be bearings?
Should I simply request a replacement nose?

I appreciate your help. Please advise.

Its probably the coupler. BEWARE when taking off the snout, those shi*y torx head bolts WILL round out. They are held in extremely well. I had a fight with one miself, and ended up drilling it out. Don't bother trying to replace them if that happens, you won't find those bolts anywhere. If you end up needing new bolts pm me, i will give you the sizes and where to get them. You will need anerobic gasket maker to make a gasket for where the snout bolts to its mating surface. I torqued my bolts to 15ft lbs using white thread locker on my new bolts. Hope this helps you, Good luck ;)

Good info in the above post. Thanks for being helpfull about the bolts also. Good man!

Good info. I have also heard of Gen V Rotors slapping more than the Gen III's??

Kinda off topic but another nice note is if anyone didn't know they can get reusable rocker bolts at a local hardware store for about $.75 a pop :D

yea i was at homedepot the other day, and the coolent elbow that i pay 12 bucks a pop for, yea homedepot had something VERY simular for 55 cents. just needed a little rubber gasket on it.

you will be suprised what you find at some hardware stores.

That's what I've learned. I put mine on BRAND SPANKING NEW with a ZZP coupler, and it clatters and rattles at idle with the cam lope. I've learned to tune it out of my hearing, which I'm told I have a bad habit of doing. :th_laugh-lol3:

I noticed my Gen III makes a little noise at idle. I figured it was a little more pronounced since it makes a little extra whirring noise at idle too with Reptile's porting.

Well Morad is supposedly shipping me a replacement nose for the Gen V they sold me.
Lame that the first one I received was defective though...
We will see how it sounds once I receive the nose. Thanks for your help!

I dont know that I would necessarily call it lame. Im sure they check those things before they send them out, but its different spinning one by hand rather than having it mounted and run by the engine.

Let us know how it turns out once you get the replacement installed.

mine doesent really have this noise. when i took it off and spun it there was no clatters or anything, i did notice that one of the blades on one of the rotors was wore down some. i guess it USED to have a problem but now thats its wore down no clatters. idk.
