Gauge Cluster Issues

Hey guys. As some of you may know from my Members Ride thread, I recently installed the Sony CDX-GT565UP into my car. Everything was working great until about a week later, when the cluster in my car would randomly die. The needles will all drop to zero, and your guess is as good as mine as to when they come back on. Sometimes they come back on instantly, other times they're not on by the time I get home.

I have a friend with an '04 GT as well, he installed another Sony head unit and is having the same problems. I'm not sure which wiring harness he's using, but I'm using a cheap-ass Scosche from Wal-Mart. I thought that might be the source of my problem, but as I said - we may have different harnesses. I think I'll order the GMOS-01 instead, and hope to god I don't have the same problem.

If anybody else has ever heard of or experienced it and know a fix, help would really be appreciated. I don't know if it's the Sony head unit, the wiring harness, or whatever else it could be. The only fixes are to either let them come back on by themselves or to shut the car off and restart it, just to see the gauges die again shortly after. Every one in the cluster (Tach, Speed, Temp, Fuel) all die. Thanks in advance for any help.

What harness/head unit are you using?

well not sure, mine did it randomly, from what i hear there is chaffing issues with wire in our cars. so get out the ohm meter and start checking everything, or put the old deck in and see if it goes away to rule out cause

if you need a new cluster let me know i have one with only 5k miles on it flouting around here somewhere
