gas mileage tune



I've read up on lean-burn tuning...I don't tune but it is pretty interesting if you haven't checked it out yet.
 
optimum way to do something like this would be open loop tuning (the only way you can lean tune with our cars) and advance that timing as far as you can with no knock... you MUST have a wideband to do this though...

You do not need a wideband...

You can do a closed loop tune and keep an eye on the LTFTs... as long as you are not pegging out to +-10 you can go open loop and assume that you are well close enough to commanded AFR.

You can't change stoich afr in closed loop....

no dude he means mapping air flow for stoich in closed loop using the narrow band, then putting it in open loop and adjusting the commanded a/f ratio vs load and rpm.
