Gas Cap Door Won't Close!

Well when i bought my car the gas cap door didnt close all the way it just moves arround i want it to close idk what is busted or how the thing works. can anyone help?
 


I think there is a torsion spring in there to keep it closed but not sure.

It may have just somehow fallen off, I've never taken it out, but it look relatively easy. Just take it off and inspect it.
 
Mine did this i accidently rubbed that quarter on a post at the local resivoir. I was lookin in the wrong mirror at just the right time to not see the post. It totally messed up the fender so insurance paid to have the quarter replaced an when they did that they fixed my gas door as well so you could do that lol. Im not sure how they did it though. when mine diod that i tried to bend it a little to fix it an couldn't get it to work. I dono how you could pull that out either without gettin behind the quarter somehow unless maybe you can squeeze a ratchet in somehow.
 


I dont make any guarantees what so ever that was just a possible suggestion. havent even seen my gas door in over a month since i'm at scholl so i dono that there will even be room but good luck an let us know what you end up doing
