are garlock gaskets better than oem? never heard anything about them.....thinking of scooping up the one in the FS section so wanted some insight b4 hand.
 


I was told that they where no good. Just go to the Dealer there not that much for a better part.
 
I saw the one you're interested in. FWIW if you have a gen V, the OEM gasket is better. Also, garlock likes to soak up any fluids or oils. They do seal well though on a good smooth surface.
 
i couldnt get a garlock to seal for ****. i put an OEM gasket in and it sealed 100% the first time.
 
Go make one out of a thin sheet of silicone. It'll cost you about $10 and you can re-use it multiple times.
