I have a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix. I just recently encountered a problem with the fuse #37 (engine compartment fuse block). This fuse controls the (chime/mall module, Tail lamps, Parking Lamps, Side marker lamps and Dimmable Lamps (instrument panel, shifter gear position indicator).
The fuse blows with the engine running, all lights on, after 10-15 minutes.
When I replace the fuse, it does not blow immediately, but as said after 10-15 minutes.
I have checked all bulbs, sockets and mostly all of the wires that are outside
the plastic protectors. Thinking this could also be a bad DRL module, I
disconnected the module. The fuse still blew. I believe other devices in this
circuit are the headlight switch/dimmer switch, DRL Module, DRL Diode.
Has anyone encountered this issue and what other components could be bad? Any other helpful ideas?
Thanks
