Fuel Pressure Issue

SubwayGuy

Who is this guy?
Here's what's going on, So I turn the key with a pressure gauge and see what happens. It jumps up to 50psi and then drops down to basically 0spi in like 10 seconds. Pretty sure that is not supposed to happen. And when I run the car, it sits directly on the 45psi mark. Yes I'm in the process of changing my pressure regulator, but that shouldn't cause the loss in pressure, right? I read that the fuel pump check valve could be stuck and letting gas leak back into the tank, rather than leaving it in the line. Ideas? Fuel filter is new too. I checked for leaks around injector o-rings and saw none.

I also read something about the fuel pump resistor, but it said that is for cars that start and then sit down after a couple seconds.

fuel pump checkvalve

and I remove those.

a simple change in your startup procedure is more than enough compromise for less restriction even if it means pressure drops after pump is off.

throw money at it or not, but its not a major issue or anything that affects anything other than startup

So it is check valve related? Can that individually be replaced or does the whole pump need to be replaced? It really is a drag sometimes because it will not start up. Like it needs to crank for a good while.

learn to turn your key on, pause till the pump is about to shut off, then start cranking.

after a few weeks you get good enough that the pump never shuts off.

id spend the $ at the whorehouse

That's what I do now. Been doing that for about a year now. I start cranking like half a second before the pump stops. Still cranks for a second or 2.
