Fuel line leak

I have a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix and recently smelled fuel when driving and stopped at a red light. Upon further investigation I found a leak in the metal fuel supply line where it curves up into the engine compartment about an inch below where the metal connects to the black plastic line. Is there any way to safely repair this? I have called the dealership and the part is discontinued. The part number is 10339938. If I can find an aftermarket part I do t mind replacing the metal portion of the fuel line I'm just not sure how to disconnect it from the black plastic portion.
 


cut, chop, rebuild that line.

if theres enough tube before the plastic line you can either use a double flair tool and a union to replace the bad line, or compression fittings.

there is a place on line that sells all new fuel lines. another member just got them for a 97-03 car. gas tank to engine.
 
Ok since I know there's a place to get an aftermarket line I'd rather go that route. So now I'm just wondering how this metal line disconnects from the plastic... Just pull? I don't wanna cause any further issues. I know there's a quick connect a little further down the line but surely there's a way to disconnect at the plastic to metal joint.
 
Ok that works for me, thanks for the help! Now that I'm under the vehicle looking at it I'm wondering how easy it will be to run a new line through this tight space with all the curves it has in it.
 


Ok so update I was able to obtain a new (used) line from the salvage yard. I pulled the old one out but the new one isn't going in very easily too many twists and turns I've been trying to get it in for about an hour now with no luck. Does anyone have any tricks to get this in here. I could really use the help.
 
lowering the sub frame 2 inches might help, i know that cluster of brake and fuel lines pass right by the sway bar bushing mount body and frame.
 
Well good news is I got it on. Bad news is I linked the **** out of the black portion of the line doing so. Guess I'll cross my fingers and hope enough fuel can pass through the line to make the care driveable
