So I was changing my fuel filter and twisted the fuel line and it bent open! so whats the replacement way to go really pissed off right now!

Is it a flared fitting with the nut stuck to the tubing?

You might be able to repair it with a short piece of tubing. Get a flaring tool and reuse the nut. Cut the old flare off and attach your newly flared piece to the original with a compression fitting.

they sell flared tubing at the parts stores, sometimes a nut with it, you need to find out what size you need and then you can use a compression fitting to seal the old with the new pipe.

i'd cut the old bent pipe off, with a tubing cutter or real slow with a hacksaw so you dont bend the tubing. take that with you to match it up at the store.

Hack saw the tube
Remove nut from filter
Remove flare from nut (reuse nut)
Buy a piece of tubing and flare the end
Put nut on newly flared tubing
Attach nut and newly flared fitting to filter
Connect new tube to old tube with a compression fitting

trying to find out. The thread is same as the filter sure i could bring that in and try and match it. Never thought a fuel filter change could go this wrong really makes me mad!

You could do like Scotty says and take the nut in and match it up with a nut/tubing combo. They're available at your local auto part store. Pick up a compression fitting while your there.

yes but a tubing cutter is much better and easier. the type you would use for copper plumbing pipe. the small ones dont cost much, maybe 5 - 6 bucks.

Hack saw will work...I see you're worried about "lighting up the neighborhood".

Have you ever used a tubing cutter? This may be your best bet.

If I were you I would just keep twisting the flange nut until it breaks the tubing off. This way you'll have better control when cutting the mangled end off.

Keep a fire extinguisher within arms reach if using the hack saw.

i just like the tubing cutter because it cuts it clean, and kinda flares the end in, so the compression fittings slide right on nice and easy.
