front suspension

ok so i went to change the strut mounts the other day on my car and after removing the old strut mount and shock i noticed that the spring was broken on the drivers side. I was quite pissed cuz i thought this would be a quick fix and id be out of the shop n home in an hour. so now i have to buy new springs for the front so i decided id put it all back to gether the old parts and fix it when i get the new springs, while putting the shock into the old strut mount i saw that i was able to compress the strut by hand and the strut would not return to its normal position so now i need new struts too. FML!

I got an estimate for the parts and its 500$ for the complete front shocks. I said no way i can get better than that. so when i got home i was looking at coils springs on ebay and found some lowering springs for 75$ i know im kinda cheap but dont have alot of money right now.

so now I have new strut mounts both sides, I have new coil springs coming with a 1'' drop i didnt want to go too low cuz of the winter (I live in Montreal). what else do i need besides the struts? do i need the seats for the coil spring? i saw those on the internet and im sure they dont come with new struts. also the boots and bumpers? I can use those from the old shocks but the seats are all ****ed up.

am i missing something here? Thanks for the help in advance.

Hmm, seems like there aren't any PS's up your way.

Well most companies claim they only lower a certain amount but bio's suspension thread shows tonns of cars much lower than they claim simply because they do lower the car much more.

Get a pre assembled strut assembly and save yourself money, time, and a headache. All new everything and only 5 bolts to mess with. You'll only need to visit a shop for an alignment when done.
