My 2002 was making a noise similar to wear indicators but the brakes were fine. I narrowed it down to a bracket rubbing on the inside rotor face. This bracket seems to act as a shim between the hub and knuckle and is used to route the ABS wire. Bend the brackets back and make sure there is clearance between it and the rotor. It's just that simple.
