Front Control Arm Bushings

and to answer your next question(s)

2. yes, they can be removed and replaced via a press.

3. yes, you can order the bushing from GM, no need to buy a completely new replacement control arm

4. yes, I have done this myself. I fully seam welded my arms, and had them powder coated red, once done, I installed new bushings, both the forward one, and the rear one on both sides. Strong as hell still and were going on 8 years now.

Though, if you don't have the press or know someone with access to one, it is cheaper to order the control arm since you'll have new front and rear bushings with a new ball joint.

Hmm, okay no press. So what does a control arm cost? Oriellys said it was a special order part and had no price.

I havent figured out how to get them out, I was kinda thinking an air hammer. But would a vice put them back in or does it take larger amounts of force?

Like a bottle jack and an upside down U shaped thing made of some angle or 1/2 inch plate?
