Front caliper piston too large?

I just upgraded the brakes on my GP to slotted rotors and ceramic pads, and then I noticed when it was back together that the front caliper pistons extend beyond the outside edge of the pads. It caused uneven pad wear on the old pads, so I'm wondering if that's normal or if I have the wrong calipers? It seems to me if I had dual piston calipers this issue wouldn't exist.

i believe thats normal.

its not doing brake maintenance that causes them to have premature wear.

clean the sliders and the holes out and make sure they have fresh grease.

If one of hte boots is torn, replace.

Yup, that Canadian guy is right. I recently switched to the front F-body setup and the stock caliper pistons go off the pad a little

Uneven pad wear is a sign that the calipers are not sliding on the pins or the caliper is sticking and needs replaced.

The pads wore uneven from inside edge to outside edge, not end to end like a pin was sticking. It was only the pads on the piston side. The outside pads wore evenly.
