Friend needs help!

My friend just bought a 2001 gtp and the engine light came on during the 2 hour drive back from Missouri. He took it a local shop and they told him his oil pan was dented and was leaking, which i could understand that, but then they told him his engine was offset. Can someone further my knowlage on a offset engine?

If the pan were dented and leaking..... it would throw a low oil level... not SES light.

what was the SES light for?

well they told him it would be a 3000 dollar fix and i didnt see anything wrong with his engine mounts and it runs fine. I was driving it and i was pushing it pretty hard and when i go wot it shakes a bit and no he nevre hit anything

Like someone said what is the SES light for? Its prolly a lean code and the 02 is prolly bad and causing the code. Get the code read first. All our pre gen oil pans leak. And a dent means nothing, if he's not losing a significant amount of oil then I wouldn't worry about it. Get the car away from that shop ASAP.

well right now I would spend that on 2 AR-15's rather than a car. Those will probably come more in handy in the near future.

I paid $3000 for my car 3 years ago!

And the hell with buying ARs. I could build up my 5 lowers for that money!
