Fog HID Issue

Hi Guys,

I just installed a 880/898 kit into the fogs of my 06 GTP.

First they were perfect, and had no issues the first night at all. The next day, one would not fire. I called the vendor and met up with him. As he showed up the other working fog light stopped firing. We tested both the ballasts on his car and they were both perfect. We came to the assumption that it must be faulty bulbs. He ordered a new set for me. Then I get another phone call, he had tested the "faulty" bulbs on his car and they work perfect. I wanted to see it myself and sure enough it was fine.

What am I missing? Do the fogs in these cars run off less than 12V and I need a relay harness? I have heard of people trying this with Grand Ams and still had some issues with flickering and sometimes not lighting.

Any ideas? Fuse maybe? Im clueless.

Tried the search function, didn't find anything about the same issues I'm having. Pretty weird.

I would try a relay harness with them.

I know mine were doing this, I bought better ballasts and it helped to fix them problem as well.

This guy is getting cheap ass balasts, buy proper ballasts from DDMtuning.

Louie 3: Thank you i was having the same problem, my driver one kicked out. I im not stealing the thread but capacitors or relay harness, which to use? or nothing? just let them warm up

^ Relay harness if anything, not capacitors.. Or just stick with nothing. Either way they'll take the same time to warm up, but hid's are a strain on your stock electrical without wiring them direct to the battery.
