FMHE Install - VW Rad -Help Please

Hey guys,

I was able to pick up Moozery's intercooler set up earlier this summer (great guy by the way), and I will be getting into the install in the next few weeks now that the car is being parked for the fall/winter.

The set up he had came with a VW rad as for the heat exchanger. I've looked all over the forum for install pics for this type of set up. I keep finding links but when I click on them it always comes up with the old "404:Page Not Found"

Does anyone have any links to pages that still are available, or possibly pics of someones similar set up. I understand that a user on here did a pretty clean set up. I'm trying to have things look as stock as possible so any tips or pics would be GREATLY appreciated.

Cheers,
Matt

I did have to mod the hood release, just the bottom because the radiator is so tall, and also plugged the overflow nipple because it was sticking out too far, also had to mod the headlight housing on the driverside. also had to cut the fog light housing out of the fender because of where we mounted the pump. I would install it further back if I was going to do it again.

you need the hood latch part secured some how. or the hood can blow open on you.

my ic came used, had this bar that has threads end caps and fits and gets bolted between the rad support, i had to cut the bottom part off the bracket then welded it to the bar, bar also has two tabs to mount the frozen boost 101 fmhe to it, then the bottom of it a bolted to the bottom of the rad support where that bracket was bolted in. i re used the bolts and nut clips drilled new holes of course....yes nail biter. i did slip some thin ply wood in front of the ac condenser and rad.

Thanks for the info and link Scotty. I'm looking to figure out some sort of hood pin set up (obviously still need the safety catch though)

I'm sure I'll have more questions in a few weeks when I start the install. This should get me off to a good start though.

Cheers guys!

if you have the room a fan set up as a pusher would work. but for real the stock fans pull air through my heat exchanger when the fans are on.
