Fixing gear indicator

I have tried multiple searches on fixing a broken (stuck) gear indicator and have not been able to find anything. My gear indicator on my shifter is stuck does any one have any ideas on how to fix this or would have to buy a new shifter assembly to remedy this? The one on the instrument cluster works fine just the shifter one i am having issues with.
