Fitting rear pad ears

Just an FYI:

I had to grind the ears down on both of the inside rear of DuraLast brake pads (sanded with a belt sander). Now they move as they should. Touched them with paint to cover the bare metal. They must have been a little off on their punch.

I'm very surprised the pad wear was even (on the pad itself, and between the inner and outer).

I've had to do the same on several cars. Seems more common on cheaper pads. I always clean up the caliper bracket as good as I can first. Never bothered painting because the paint won't cure hard before I first use the brakes. I just put a big glob of caliper grease on the ends.
