nothing to brag about, it was a newer focus ses. pulled out of walmart and he got beside me, he punched it, dont know why cuz there was a light up ahead. so where at the light side by side, waiting for it to turn. when it hits green we get on it. i soon let of the gas cuz he was about a half length behind me so i thought he quit. but then i hear the mighty sound of the inline 4cyl roar, and to my suprise when it shifted to second (or third, not sure) the tires actually chirped. when i heard his motor rev up, i give my gt enought gas to down shift, hit about 50 (speed limit was 35, note it was late and no cars on road). race was over and we went on our ways.

nothing special but a kill is a kill.

Joking aside...the new 3rd Gen Fokuz is supposed to have Ferd's new 2.0 Direct Injection 4 banger rated at 160 horse or so...which is about that of an N/A car...and mated to a 5-spd...in a car that weighs less...I'd say good form schmee.

blue, 160 whp or at the crank? i assume you mean whp cuz you said its the same as a gt, but just making sure.
 
so, how is the focus and the gp gt the same? the gt makes roughly 160 at the wheels. and blue is saying 160 at the crank. can someone clearify plz.
 




fastest stock foucs ive seen was a 7.8 0-60, forgot what website. all i know is he started it, we went from redlight, his tires chirped when he shifted, i won.
could have been that he wasnt all out
his car wasnt running right
or missed a gear, doubt it

power to weight ratio, i can see how the cars are somewhat matched up. i asked becuase i thought blue was saying the made the same hp, i guess if you consider weight, they kinda do. last thing, the foucus makes its peak at 6,400 rpm.
 
ya my old 99 2.4LD9 sunflower mated with a 5 speed if you knew how to launch it (short 1st gear almost useless except for spinning) could really get up and go. sold it for a smoother ride(impala) but I think to this day stock for stock if sunflower was launched right it could keep rightup if not creep by.
