• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Ok just a quick recap. My Only symptom is a surging/fluttering/bucking that happens after driving for about an hour and everything been at operating temp for a while. Its weird it feels like a buck and looks like a quick small acceleration and hitting the breaks on the tachometer rapidly. It happens at what seems to be at all speeds. It only jumps like 200-500 rpms other than that haven't noticed any issues. I have also replaced nearly everything! Now I did get these codes once before but they gone by the time i got to a scanner and the scanner didn't read history codes :/. Anyways, here is what I got with a quick explanation.
P0403: egr valve system fault(solenoid)
p0405: egr system fault(position sensor)
c1233: Wheel speed sensor (open or short circuit right front wheel)
C1241: Varible Effort Steering Circuit Malfunction(not sure if i should be worried about this one.....) Coupling this with my crappy day, this is leaving me not knowing what to think. I'm starting to feel its time to break rule number one and go to the dealership. any help appreciated!

i can say that the bucking or glitch as i call them lol could be something with the traction control/abs problem, had an 01 impala doing some "fluttering" ended up being wheel bearing abs sensor. the egr is also a concern as there are solenoids and they open as such and can cause a change in rpm etc... i assume its a 97-03 gtp or 04+gtp or 06+gt? change egr, change right front wheel bearing. let us know how it turns out

Google the egr codes and see if you can read up on the diagnostic aids for those items. Usually GM will answer the issue in the diagnostic aid section. Also because it's a soleniod and postion issue, this could be inducing a vacuum leak etc which could also cause the drivability issues.

On the wheel speed sensor. That is either a bad hub or wiring leading to the hub. These are common to our cars.

For the steering, don't worry about it. It means you don't have the magnasteering working. Aka your steering won't get firmer at highway speeds. It's a nice to have..not a must have.

99 buick regal gs. pretty much the same thing as a gtp. also could this abs glitch also be related to my inaccurate readings on my speed sensor? it reads accurately up to an hour then starts jumping between 5 and up to 10 mph. then not long after this my bucking and surging starts.

@ bill Could this malfunction also leave it being firm at all times? cause its been feeling a lot stiffer lately.....can't say I mind though.

for both of these questions i imagine they would just like a second opinion.
