Final U.S built Pontiac rolls off the line...

thats pathetic, sold as a damn fleet car! This is about like when olds was shut down (which was kinda due since all they had was crap!) but with me being kinda hardcore Olds most of my life...My first car was a 84 Cutlass with a 70 350 Rocket, also had another Cutty and 4 other G bodys. Its just one of those sad times and end of an era

It sucks to see Pontiac go, and it especially frustrates me that they kept GMC, which is total bullcrap since all GMC is just a company that rebrands GM trucks and SUVs into GMCs...:th_shakinghead2:

I would of much rather seen Buick go, rebadge some Buicks as Cadillacs and keep Pontiac. Doesn't really make any since because now theres a void were there mid level performance minded cars once were, which will be filled with what, Slowbalts and base Impalas? Maybe a Lucerne..eww

True, forgot about that one. At least let go of Buick and GMC and to lower their chevrolet range since they have cars that nobody wants to buy. Like the aveo, cobalt, hhr and other crap like the traverse which is an ugly car...!:th_shakinghead2:

I heard GM didn't want to get rid of Buick because of how well it sells overseas (China)

Thats what happens when you build sh*tty cars for an extended period of time, and still price them the same as vehicles much, much better.

IMHO GM should have scrapped GMC I agree along with the now dead Saab, Saturn, and Hummer, and keep Chevy, Pontiac, Buick and Cadillac. Chevy mostly trucks suv's along with the Corvette and Camaro, Pontiac to be a car line up. G8, new Trans Am and Solstice. Buick mid level luxury cars and SUV like the Enclave, and Cadillac Top end everything Escalade, CTS, STS and SRX. Mainly my point of keeping the pontiac lineup minus the crap like any SUV badged as a Pontiac.

government motors...

when im done playing with the w-body line up, ill be moving on to a ford (lightning truck or cobra)

X2 on the 03-04 cobra them things can be had pretty cheap along with the even cheaper 03 04 Mach 1 also not supercharged but DOHC and a Solid rear end.:th_thumbsup-wink:

I researched this for school and found something pretty interesting; gm had a plan to keep pontiac but drop EVERY car that wasnt performance based (bring pontiac back to its roots, as performance cars) so they would keep probably the GTO, G8, GP GXP, and Solstice. Good plan imo but it fell through.... =/
and pittman06, i found pics of my uncles old Hurst Olds with a 442. It was a sweet car, oldsmobile made some cool stuff back in the day ha

Sad to see Pontiac go, I mean they were GM's third largest selling brand and Buick was way below them. The Chinese love Buick's the way we love out Cady's over here. They are a huge status symbol.
