False low coolant indication

I am seeing a low coolant indication but the coolant level is fine. I thought the sensor might be faulty, but it's apparently not located on the plastic reseviour as I thought. Where did they put the sensor and could the indicator also indicate other problems.

The low coolant sensor is on your radiator. The reservoir is not a good indication of if your coolant is low or not, and you should be checking it at the radiator (with the car cool). It should be up to the fill neck.

Be sure that the car is cool before you do this. I have seen a couple accidents because of someone taking the radiator cap off when the car was warm.

Also if the coolant level is fine in the radiator it is a common that the sensor will get dirty and gummed up and then they will set the low coolant light. Should beable to just remove it and clean it.

Should be on the passenger side, just below the radiator cap. You might have to look around for it as the battery might obstruct your view of it.
