Factory amp question

I know this may have been asked many times but I cant find it!! I have a 04 GP WITHOUT monsoon (just the usual single cd radio) and I wanted to know if there is a factory amp in the car..I just assumed there was one in the rear between the speakers but I don't see or feel one when push up on the padding...is the deck itself powering the speakers? or it there an amp and its so far up in the area that the only way to know its there is to remove the seats and take off rear speaker cover panel?
I am asking cause I was curious if I install a aftermarket deck with the factory speakers (for now) ..just wondering if the deck will power them or theres a amp powering them..
 


I have heard the base factory head unit puts out 9 watts RMS x 4 channels. So it gives decent volume all by itself on the factory stock speakers. I put in a cheap aftermarket radio/CD/USB head unit with twice the power, and replaced the rear 6x9's with Kickers. Big improvement without much cash spent. The stock 6x9 aren't too bad for factory originals. But they were never meant to be seen: ugliest looking 6x9's you will ever see. Whizzer cones but no tweeters.
