I have a 2000 Grand Prix. I bought the car brand new in 2001 the last 2000 on the floor.

i guess about three years ago the alarm started going off by it self randomly.

the remote started acting up, at least I thought, they would work sometimes and then they just completely stop.

one of the remotes is brand new I got two when I bought the car and I bought a new case for the one I was using.

its not the remotes it's the alarm system in the car. The light on the dash still blinks and I can push down on the lock button when I get out and the car will lock it self before I walk away.

have anybody had or have this issue and what did you do to fix it?

You will most likely need to replace the BCM. I am not sure the exact procedure for replacing one. I do know it is someplace behind the radio.
