Exhaust price questions

I'm going to cut off the horrible Advanced Auto mufflers from my car, and put the stocks back on and then a glasspack where the resonator is. Now would it be cheaper for me to get the glasspack and mufflers, or just go to a muffler shop and tell them what i want. If i got them myself, i'd clamp them on myself unless some welding was needed, then i'd have to talk to a muffler shop. I know the shop around here is known to overcharge so what do you guys think i should do?

i wouldnt put a glasspack on it.that's about the most restrictive exhuast peice you can use besides the converter.2 mufflers should be about 200$ or less for a universal setup at most shops.
shop pros.
1.professinal install
2.You dont have to get on the ground
3.most places give you a lifetime warranty on the muffler

shop cons.
1.higher cost.expect to spend double at a shop vs. you doing it with some cheapies
If you live somewhere where rusting is an issue i would go ahead and have the shop do it,most aftermarket mufflers they're using are made of galvinzed steel and only last 3-6 years(here in michigan)and this way you dont have to pay for a muffler again, just labor for reinstall

Another route i would look into..If you wanted a louder crisper exhaust that sounds right(not like a civic with a fartcan from autozone.) then look into a Supertrapp exhaust mufflers.they are made of aluminum so they dont rust and are extremley tunable.just put a set of them on my 95 gtp and you can feel the differenceSuperTrapp: Performance Exhaust. Plus they look awesome all polished out

The entire catback doesn't matter for a stock power level grand prix.

I went from a super restrictive stock style catback to a magnaflow and it didn't do much for me at all.

Just sounds terrible.

I'm also making ~70 more WHP than a stock GTP.

The reason i wanted the glasspack where the resonator is, is so the car doesnt sound completely stock, but not too loud, which is why i want the stock mufflers on. I want to be able to hear the supercharger whine.
