exhaust leak somewhere?

02 grand prix, 198k miles

Today I noticed a slight noise coming from under car. It doesn't sound like it's coming from the front near the engine, but maybe more so towards middle or back. I cant really hear any droning or popping from the rear mufflers, but there is a popping noise and i cant pinpoint it. If I'm in between traffic or an enclosed area, I can hear it echoing and hear the leak and its a popping noise. In the driveway, the mufflers drown out noise if I hit higher RPMS.

I also dont see any exhaust smoke coming from underneath in the middle anywhere or anywhere where it shouldn't and I also live in michigan where it's 20 degrees out and the exhaust fumes are visible. I've had trucks and cars with exhaust leaks before so I know the sound. But I was also easily able to figure out the leak. We have also got alot of snow and I've been driving the car in salt and snow.

I do park in a spot in the driveway that isn't paved, and I've sorta made ruts because of the mud, maybe the car is bottoming out and hitting the exhaust and something ripped?

Any thoughts?
 


Anyone know how good muffler cement or any of that exhaust repair stuff in a tube? Maybe it's just a crack or something I can use that? I dont really want to dump too much money into this car.
 
Try starting the vehicle (it's best if the engine and exhaust if cold so you don't get burned) and have someone hold a rag over the exhaust outlets, the extra back pressure will make any leaks louder and easier to find.
