Everything works...other than REVERSE

Hey, I'm hoping someone might be able to help me out on this one..

In the past I've had my Tranny re-done on my 03 Grand Prix GT, due to separate problems, I'm crossing my fingers that my warranty didn't expire because now, my car seems to run fine, unlike last time, however i've lost all use of reverse.

I was parked with my car running and then i went to back out and the car reved but went nowhere.

There were some signs something was going wrong because sometimes it would slip when i put it in R, but I would just jog through the gears until R worked again. These signs went on for about 2 weeks prior to today when i almost beat up my own car...

It also doesn't sound like its clicking when i put it in reverse...

Anyways any input or ideas would be greatly appreciated, last time i took my car to Mr.Transmission they tried nailing me 4 grand for a new tranny, but i talked them down to 2500 and they threw in some of my old parts, and less of a warranty.

Please help!

I would definately call your trans shop and check on the warranty. No reverse can be a few different problems and most require partial trans teardown to inspect. Does it just not work any time at all now or is only a cold or hot issue? If it comes and goes than it could be as simple as a seal problem that is fairly common on the reverse apply servo piston but if you dont have reverse under any circumstance it sounds more serious and could be a possible blown out channel plate gasket or broken band which means internal repair.

how hard is it to replace that seal? mine works most of the time and is weak when it does work.
