Escort 8500 x50 or Belltronics v8 radar Detectors

Well guys i am looking in purchising a radar detector but i am not sure which of this two would be a better buy. I know the escort is a little more expensive than the belltronics but both seem to have good reviews online. I was wondering inf any one here has an opinion on which one is good or what other detectors i should look into.
 


I have an escort and it has saved me many times but I also paid for it though. I have the 8500i which back when I got it was about 350 bucks. I will never pay that much again because im not a huge speeder and im not driving a exotic car. I wouldnt spend more than 200 bucks tops.
 
Escort X50 and Bell RX65 have the same internals. They differ in exterior design and little features. They both work great (my brother has x50 i have the rx65). Most of my friends have X50's tho.


What are the differences between the Escort 8500 x50 and the Beltronics RX65?

You may not be aware of this but Beltronics and Escort merged some time ago. Both of these detectors offer extremely similar performance and they are based on the same antenna platform but there are some feature differences. The most popular differences are that the RX65 includes voice alerts and also includes a new KU Band that is being used in Europe. They are currently priced the same at $299.95 and with the additional features the Beltronics RX65 is our choice.

RX65 has more features and 20% greater range. and trust me, it picks up cops. on a rural road, at least a mile away. even in the city gets incredible range. you just gotta get used to the fake alerts in the city (every detector gets them). and besides, its 20$ more expensive than v8. Get the Rx65.
