hey everybody i need help with my gtp 98, my car got burned and i changed the engine the sc and wiring harness
the problem is that when i turn on the car it turns off but it lasts about 4 secs and i can do this as many times as i turn on the car

is this wiring problem? or mechanic?
apparently there is something that protects the engine when it's out of gas is that possible?

Check the fuel pump resistor... Bypass it like so and see if the car stays on.

I see three things possible.

1. Security light should be flashing and not solid. Solid means security is piss off (I'm right guys, solid is bad ...uh right?)

2. Maf sensor is bad. Unhook it and you'll probably need a little throttle to get it going and keep it going, but it'll run off a table after a couple of minutes.

3. Fuel pump resistor. Although i thought this was mostly common once the resisitor had a chance to warm up.

I'm sorry, this just struck me as hilarious. Almost with a British accent.

I think that if it flashes it's pissed. A start/run for 2 seconds sounds just like the security feature. You might have to try the 30 learn procedure?

the bypass on the relay worked!! thanks a lot Mike Kopstain, so i just have to buy a new relay?

No, that means the fuel pump resistor is bad. You can leave the relay that way and be fine. Or you can get a new fuel pump resistor and replace it.
