Engine swap / 2007 into 1999 GT

i have a 99 GT / junk engine
been talking with Will at Overkill Motorsports about an engine swap, he is suggesting a 2007 L26 vin#2 as a direct swap (using my top end and coolant sensor). i ask about PCM compatibility and he assures me it will work fine. has anyone done this swap ? i really don't want to question his expertise, just curious what real world experience has to say about it.

He is right, the blocks are exactly the same.

Only the internal parts like the rods and pistons are different, but that means nothing. The L26 motor will swap directly into place, just slap the old stuff from your blown motor over and it's run and drive like normal.

There are many parts that you will have to re-use from the old motor so you don't have to buy anything extra, just gaskets mainly.

ok, after doing some further research (maybe this is all OLD NEWS) to most .... the series III engine also has an aluminum intake manifold... i saw where some are doing a conversion to this on a series II engine, so I'm assuming if it is left on the series III it to will work in a "99" GT also ? seems to be a good idea to get away from the plastic. ? also the timing cover is better on the series II ...
trying to do my diligence in research .... just bouncing it out there.
definatly seems that using the series III is a no-brainer though.....

ok .... after more reading, i see that all these issues have been talked to death ..... ill end this one here.

sorry for taking up space ......
