Engine Swap: 04 n/a to a 05 GTP (several pics)

Ok so my buddy ditched me (actually family emergency) and I ended up having to swap the engine/trans/cradle and everything by myself. Did allot of reading (on here) before I started. It really wasn't as bad as I thought.
Started with my 04 n/a Grand Prix. I Unbolted the A/C compressor and brake calipers and hung them from the body so I didn't unhook them. (no bleeding or recharging) just bolted them back up to the new rotors and engine. Also, just unhooked the steering linkage since the GTP one was still intact along with the struts and all.

Then started the removal: it's nice to have a friend with a garage and a lift. Otherwise I don't think I could have done it alone. And in the process make my friend that couldn't help me feel bad that he couldn't. hahaha

To this.
Now, things I found out that I had not read before I started: Even with the 05 PCM to install into the airbox. The BCM does NOT recognize the new PCM Vin #. So the car would not start. After allot of searching. I ended up Downloading the 05 GTP PCM files, then replaced the 04 n/a PCM and Flashed the 05 GTP files into the 04 PCM.
Now the car starts and runs AWESOME. For a stock 05 engine, I couldn't believe the huge difference from the n/a engine. IMO anyway.

So, I haven't cleaned the car up yet nor did I do any polishing on the supercharger. This is just my daily driver. The making everything look pretty is going into my Kitcar. And that is where the lower end of the n/a engine is going for a Top Swap. (higher compression) without a smaller pulley. But that is for another post.

So... What do you all think???

Well done!

I found going from N/A w/headers and intake to 3.8 pulley top swap to be a world of difference.

If you do much highway driving you might still be left wanting though.

I thought about putting headers and the VS cam I have in it. But decided to save it for something else. This engine still pulls great at least to 125 then I ran out of road. I thought these had speed limiters. I am new to tuning. So all I did was Flashed the stock GTP files into the 04 PCM. Will save the tuning for the Kitcar.

And what would a "proper tune" consist of on an 05GTP? The car runs awesome. Well compared to the n/a engine.

The GTPs had a 128 limiter.

I'm trying to figure out the whole deal because I spun a bearing on my l26 and I'm trying to figure out if I swap it with a l32 how to rewire the the harness and figure out everything I need, I know I got to potto the gtp bin on my pcm. Well the tranny bolt right out do I keep mine and later switch the differential on it?

The trans will bolt right up, just be sure you have the na trans settings on the PCM. It is recommended to upgrade to the hd diff, cover, and axle but it is not a necessity.

Oh ok I will try to look one close to my area. Another quick question does the l36 to l67 wiring conversion kit work on my l26 to convert to l26? Or do I got to get the whole harness from the other car?
