engine revs when putting into gear

hi
have a friend with a 97 grand prix around 200k mi nice car everything perfect the other day she said this happend twice through the day... put car in reverse, engine revved as if she hit the gas... several hours later did the same thing putting in forward gear. ever heard of that before???
 


Does it rev itself in neutral or park too? If so that is the IAC or TPS in the throttle body...not sure about drive or reverse...might check the throttle cable and see if that has anything to do with it...maybe something is off...
 
thanks, not sure on the neutral and park. she said its only done it twice one day so far. she is bringing it up today so Ill check it out and get back thanks again
