Engine rattle at 2100 RPM

I've noticed since I put my engine back together that it gets a rattle at about 2100 RPM and will continue to rattle up through the RPM range and back down to about 2000. I've disconnected both belts and fired it up with the same result, so I'm 99% certain it's not a pulley/pump or my blower ( I held it from moving while testing). It seems to be coming from the front bank more than the back. It's the kind of noise that a shot bearing makes when you spin it quickly. It's quiet at low RPM, but hits instantly at a certain speed. I'll try to get an audio clip of it if I can get it to pick up the noise I want.

I checked the front bank, and all are snug. I don't look forward to checking the rear bank if that's what needs to be done next.

God, I hope not! I replaced the darn things when I redid the engine. If it's lifter tap, they're all tapping, because it's more of a whirr than a tapping.

if it was a honda i would tell you that the hamster on the wheel is probably out of breath and needs some water.

LAWLZ!

Well, now that I have my squeaky belt taken care of, I may try to get a decent recording of it. I've been to the strip twice (a total of ~20 passes) and run it hard a lot on the street since the rebuild, so I don't think it's detrimental...:th_scratchhead:

Well I wonder what it could be then.....Lets hear that recording.
