Engine noise

I have a 1999 L67 and was wondering if the winding noise that the car is making is normal because its supercharged or is it a bearing in the supercharger that needs to be replaced?? Does anyone know of a solution to the problem or is this normal? Some feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Take a Saturday or whenever you have a day off and you can fix it with basic tools

Pre-order INTENSE-Racing.com: INTENSE Supercharger Coupler Change Kit
$40.00 + shipping

Buy some good latex gloves, the old fluid stinks something fierce and if you let it soak in, the lady in your life will run for a couple days. Take my word on it, been there, dealt with that. Use rubber gloves.

The rest in in the instructions, if you need a video, YouTube is your friend. Coupler replacement is common, no worries. Easy fix

I'm not quite sure that's the same noise I'm talking about.. I'll have to upload a video, but its almost like the same sound a worn out power steering would make

do you hear it at a idle, then it increases with rpm's, driving or in park?

it sounds like the power steering pump. hows your steering? still easy to turn when in park, when you turn the wheels does it whine more, parked, at a idle?

Yes I hear it at idle and does increase with rpms but steering seems perfect, a mechanic told me its just because the car is supercharged but I'm not convinced... i know the supercharger does make noise but should only really make that winding noise when in boost?? Correct me if I'm wrong

if you are all stock, stock air box as well, you will hardly hear the sc even when in boost. open cone on stock ( what i have) and all i hear is air sucking into the engine, (at idle) and with cone you hear the inside of the engine as well. at idle.

no whining at all at idle.

ok, take the sc belt off, then start it up listen to hear if its stillthere, if so then remove the other belt, and start it if is gone, its a pulley or the alt or even water pump, witht belts off check all your pulleys for side to side play, and smooth spinning.

so im saying it sounds like one of your idler, tentioner, or alt, or water pump is making noise.
