This has the ability to ruin my whole weekend... I have no idea how it happened but when I pulled into the driveway from school today it started doing this. Yes I change the oil every 3k. 04 na with 135k

That would be a very odd sound for a pulley, but I guess nothing is impossible.

Yikes. Oil level good? SES light? Drivability okay or did it drive weird too? Did you do anything unusual (accidentally rev to 9K RPM)?

Any chance your timing chain jumped?

I found the culprit... Had a co worker look at it while I was spinning you wheel... And magically I pulled it this out

Plash guard on the driver side... Must not have been put away right when my work had it

For once a happy knock story. Happy for you. I was amazed how many splash shields are in great shape at the salvage yard here. Mine are junk.
