Engine Covers, better on or off?

Been looking for an answer to this but can't really find anything. I notice members on here not using their engine covers and was wondering if there was a proven benefit to this? I'm sure most are due to running intercoolers and clearance issues. But on stock blower setups does this help? Like with heat soak on hotter days and such? Also my car is a Daytona and has the vented hood, During warmer weather will it hurt to run without the intake tubing. Mines useless since I installed my intake.

Hell that might be all it is. I've only looked at it for a whole second when I had the hood open to replace a idler pulley. I thought I read somewhere that t attached to the stock intake to give it a little more performance over stock. I'm not sure on that though because the car already had what was on it when I bought it. I've literally opened the hood 3 times on this car, once to see what motor was in it. Second to see why it didnt build boost one day one the way to work, and third was to fix it. Its only drove a handful of miles a week because I don't want to hurt it with this weather we're having and on top of that I've barely had it two months.

Noted. Thank you. Its currently on jackstands right now waiting on hub assemblies to get here so I'll crawl around the checklist there and see what else is going on.

I pulled mine just for aesthetics. I prefer looking at the mechanics of the engine. A big slab of shiny black plastic does nothing for me.

Off, on all of my 3800's. Those engines make plenty of heat as it is. In fact, I've never had a problem with a 3800 not warming up.... quite the obverse, actually.

Take the stupid cover off. All it does is trap moisture and heat against the electronics and whatnot. It also tends to catch fire. Its a beauty cover and serves no real purpose.
