Engine chugging/ multiple cylinder misfires??

A few days ago my "check engine" light came on, a day later the car started running very roughly and "chugs/bogs down" when accelerating. The car runs somewhat smoothly when idle, but as soon as I step on the gas, it has no power and I can feel that not every cylinder is firing. I did some research online and everything pointed to the Crankshaft Positioning Sensor (apparently its not uncommon for these things to go out on grand prix). So I replaced that. Did not even help with the problem. Now my car barely runs, the scan tool keeps providing the code "p0300- multiple cylinder misfires", and the temperature gauge barely reads, and the car runs hot. MY father and I are pretty car savvy, but we have NO IDEA what it could be. And i don't have the funds to have it towed to a shop and pay them to dink around for hours, while i pay them hundreds/thousands of dollars, or to replace everything under the hood myself. PLEASE HELP ME!!

Plugs

Wires

Vacuum leak

Tune-up in general.

Get that done.

Could also be a clogged cat.

Most car savvy people would do all that first ;)

A code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

  • Faulty spark plugs or wires

  • Faulty coil (pack)

  • Faulty oxygen sensor(s)

  • Faulty fuel injector(s)

  • Burned exhaust valve

  • Faulty catalytic converter(s)

  • Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages

  • Faulty camshaft position sensor

  • Defective computer

New spark plug and wires, around $75 for the full set of good brand.

Check fuel pressure. If it's weak, check the pump, power to pump, fuel line, and filter.
