Electrical Problems (Shorting out?)

My strong suit on vehicles is usually suspension and maintenance, I'm not a very big electrical guy. I understand alot of the basics, just not my cup of tea, so hopefully some of you guys can give me a hand.

When I bought my GP, had these problems:
Blower settings 1/2/3/4 didn't work, but 5 does. Figured/figuring resistor.
Radio Backlight wouldn't illuminate.

Developments the last week or so:

Washer fluid got low, and instead of fully illuminating the Amber light on my DIC, it would sort of intermittently flash, mostly when hitting bumps and turning right. Then the last few days, I'd see the red door ajar light blink (on bumps) at me too, but all the doors were closed and locked. Topped off fluid level today, haven't seen either light. The intermittent thing is really what is throwing me off though.

I went to the gas station earlier today, and the car wouldn't unlock the doors for me when placed in park, and also the door button wouldn't unlock the doors either. First time it's done that. Came back outside after going into the gas station, and all seemed fine.

Blower fan now kicks on at random too, even though I've kept it on the 5 setting where it's always worked. Sometimes I'll start the car and it will turn on, last 20 seconds, turn off, then randomly kick on 6 miles down the road for about half a minute, and shut off. Still kind of figuring it's the resistor, but with my other problems now it makes me wonder....

I tried smacking the dash around a few times to see if the blower would respond to that, it didn't, BUT......The radio backlight now will work if I smack the dash around the glovebox area....

In conclusion, I guess I'm kinda trying to figure out if there is a common electrical unit that would effect all of the above in/behind my dashboard assembly? It all seems a little too weird like there has to be one thing that is throwing everything array....

I plan on ordering HID's and new front speakers in about 2 weeks with that check, and probably a blower motor resistor...Would hope to make sure I have all of these problems solved before putting HID's in and jacking them up right away....

OMG my friend you have a Gremlin! They are not fun, as they hide in tough spots. First thing is to check the voltage of the battery and hope that its low. If it IS a good battery, it is time to start wire hunting. Especially seeing that its vibration triggered. If beating the chit out of your dash is getting results, I'd start there. Remove the dash bezel, radio, gauge cluster and start looking for wire harnesses close to metal components. If you can, move the harnesses away from the metal, if they seem like theyre gonna work their way back to the metal...put some electrical tape on the metal where they would touch. These issues are not fun and I wish you the best, and hope that anyone that has had the same issue chimes in.

Kinda what I was figuring, was hoping there just might be some quick fix......But you never learn anything without working for it right?

Hopefully I can bust out my DMM and start checking everything tomorrow or tuesday after work.

Clean/tighten up the battery connection that feeds the power block on the pass. strut tower. Mine was dirty once and it was causing all kinds of wierd issues. Worth a try before digging into wiring.
