Ok so I know nothing about springs and all that lowering crap. How much do these normally run and what else has to be done or can you just slap springs on.

Bio I know you will kill me because im sure you answer this all the time.

now to answer your question...kinda...

you can just 'slap the springs on' if you want, but depending upon mileage of your current suspension it might not last long under the new spring rates, which are usually higher on lower springs. it is usually best to replace your struts as well. you also might as well change to upper strut mounts while youre at it as those are usually bad in the 100k+ mile range as well.

however, it's all up to your budget and what you're willing to do. i'd suspect springs alone to run you around $250.

Hmm alright thanks for the info. I have 80K on the car so I would be getting close to that area you speak of

I slapped the SSC's on my car with 90k miles on the struts and now have 104k Miles on these struts, none have blown yet.

But someone with 60k mile struts could slap the same springs in and they could blow in 3k. Its really hard to say when a strut will let go, depends on the live it had, how it was manufactured (maybe slightly different), and the conditions/weather you live in.

Its really hard to predict how long it will last.

It's also dependent on the shocks valving, stiffer springs will blow struts out faster than a softer spring. Eibach's are way to stiff for stockers to last long.

actually over way round. Stiff spring won't let the strut move as much, not letting it move as much doesn't make it work as hard.

A soft spring will consistently let the strut bottom out, which is bad for the strut.

This of course pertains to Lowering springs. Stock Springs is a different situation.
