Hi, I have a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.8 liter. A couple weeks ago my check engine light came on reading code P0411 (secondary air intake) so I replaced the air pump. I reset the code and the light came back on. I have finally to it to a shop and they hooked it up to a computer and it is saying the egr valve is stuck. so they replaced that and the relay. the code was off for a couple days now its back on? I took it there today and it is still saying it is stuck they have checked all the wiring thinking it was a short but cant find anything? just wondewring if anyone know what it could be? i was just reading about DPFE sensors does the grand prix have one? Please help thank you
Mike

Sounds like you got the same problem as me... I'm taking it off today to clean it up real good. but it's only like a year old. so... I don't really know. but ill let you know if i find anything. side note, it seems like i only throw the code when im under prolonged boost, on the freeway or going up a hill ya know.

take it off... get some carb cleaner.. spray carb cleaner into hole on bottom.. work the plunger with a coathanger or whatever.. repeat process a few times if needed.. when its clean the plunger should work freely.

so i soaked it in carb cleaner for like an hour and worked the plunger like gtpinsc suggested. I also cleaned out the gas cap real good and threw some white lithium grease on the gasket on the gas cap. ses has been off since, drove like 200 miles since sat... ill keep you posted

Yep delete that *****.....gotta use block off plates though make some or go on zzperformance.com and get em....need to clear the code off the pcm as well so the car can pass emissions. I currently have no cats, egr, or evap and still passed emissions.

Right now I am stationed up the oh so wonderful state of Alaska and in the region I am in there is no emissions test :P. I will look into zzperformance.com. About not having a cat/resonator/or muffler will it burn up the valves, since GM cars need back pressure to start? (Which is gay)

Someone gave u false info on the whole back pressure thing. U can use the egr brackets and RTV coins on them to block the holes. I've been running mine like that for over 2 years now with no issues.

Yeah I looked it up last night. I found a few articles and on the trashed performance site they have an in-depth article all about it.
