EBCM replacement?

So I have a 2002 Grand Prix GT and i have the ABS & TRAC OFF lights come on and off. I had the lights scanned by a local car shop. They said i need to get the EBCM replaced and they said i can only go to a GM dealership to get it replaced and programmed. So I called one of the local GM dealerships and they said $1600 to get it replaced. I was like WTF. So is there any other way around paying $1600? Is it easy to replace and program if I buy a used one from a junk yard?
 


i replaced a high presure power streering hose and started having problems with my abs system they told there two different hose could i have gotten the wrong one?
 
You might want to create your own thread, this is a tad off topic.

But keep in mind the EBCM is not only responsible for abs function, but also determining the functioning of the magnasteer rack. Not sure if the lines are different for Magnasteer or without, but it's worth looking into? I believe the lines are the same though, probably just coincidental.
