Eating gas quicker than usual?

last day at my delivery job, first day on it with my new intake. I've only been here 2.5 hours and my gas gauge has dropped a bit more than 2.5 hrs into my night shift I usually have...

so is it eating gas because it's like 98+ outside, or did I f up my intake install?

p.s. not a right foot issue, been driving conservatively today.

what kind of intake did you put on, CAI, HAI, FWI, it will make a difference,

haha if you told me that 2-3 days ago I would agree. I kept going 3k-4k revs cuz it made a nice rumble lol, but today I threw $10 in the tank and was at about half a tank. been driving 90% of the time below 2k revs, and the other 10% no higher than 3k. now I'm like a bit above 1/4 tank.

this is my first time working the day shift, so it's the first day I've driven constantly in this heat, so I'm hoping the heat is my problem not my intake.

A scanner may help so you can monitor AFR and fuel trims. You may have developed a vacuum leak or something.
Calculate your exact fuel mileage.

Are you running the A/C during the day and not the night?

nah i'm to cheap to use A/C. i'm home now here's 2 pics. i'm pretty sure everything is fine it stopped dropping as rapidly a few hours after posting this, not sure what happened lol.

AC is cheaper at highway speeds and windows is cheaper in town.

I'd venture to guess fuel trims happened.

HAI won't flow as much air (hot air is less dense), pcm will have to relearn fuel trims which it probably has.

how is AC cheaper at highway speeds? just curious. so PCM learning fuel trims should bring me back to normal?

The increase in drag from leaving your windows open costs more fuel than AC does.

Test it out.

Yes, PCM should learn to use less fuel and you should be back to normal.
