E85 Talk about a safety net!

Here's a little story for all of the e85 doubters, and those who ponder embracing this fuel in the future.

I'm out today in 93 degree weather messing around in the GP looking for little street races, cruising, you name it.

After about 45 minutes of hard driving, I go to Mickey D's and grab a Smoothie and drop a deuce:th_laugh-lol3:. Start the car back up and realize my IC pump does not turn on and I have leaked out all the coolant in the IC.

Wait... It gets better.

I figure, what the hell... Let me continue playing around until I see a degree or 2 of KR, then I'll head back home.

I carry on driving like the car is stolen and to my surprise, no KR. This causes me to start driving abnormally hard because I want to see how well the e85 is working. 15-20 minutes later... NO KR

Now I start to feel like a retard because I'm speeding around aimlessly like, well, a retard. So I head home very impressed by this corn made stuff.

Wait ... It gets better

This is on a 2.6 pulley! Just ported my inlet to match the LS1 TB and machined my snout 2 days ago and put the blower back on. Very interesting seeing that on a 2.8 pulley with pump gas, I would see 1-2 degrees of KR in 80 degree weather under hard driving with the intercooler running.

So in theory, Dare I say E85 is quite a bit better at fighting KR than a Full size inter-cooler? Just something to think about. Thought some of you might like to know this.

Absofvckinlutly!! I was after a IS3 Gen5 SC car on E85! I want something I can beat on and not have to worry about it. I sold the Gen5 after the car burned down and decided a turbo car would be better to go with for a GP GT. I'd love to see how this E85 works on a non IC'd turbo car! People say ohh this platforms dying and ohh its getting to be a 15 year old platform blah blah blah! This is what having a fun car to me is. Old faithful pushrod cammed boosted corn burning american made cars. LOL to the OP go spank a Evo or something for me!

I wanna beat Evo's :(

I think this might be my next mod.. I wonder if there are E85 stations in West Bloomfield? I'm moving from Macomb :(

There's a Sh!t ton of e85 in macomb county. I'm there almost as much as I'm in Lansing. Just google e85 near that zip code.

If only they weren't thinking about cutting funding for E85 in the government. I still am probably going to go E85 though. lol
