Duralast CV axle diagnosis

Six days short of two years ago, I replaced the drivers side CV axle on my 99 GTP, because the boot had split and grease was flinging out. I put in a Duralast unit I got from AutoZone. The last few weeks I have been noticing a clicking sound coming from the front left end on left turns at low to moderate speeds. The sharper I turn, the more it clicks. There is an intersection near my house that I use everyday, and its a very sharp left turn. This is where I always hear it the loudest, but usually when making left turns at lights I hear it as well, but not as loud. Well today I crawled under the car and the boot on the replacement Duralast has a slit and grease is all over the place. With the car on jackstands I turned the steering wheel all the way to the left but I can't hear or feel anything turning the wheel by hand. I'm going to try to get a warranty replacement on the CV axle (limited lifetime) from Autozone, but do you guys think the clicking noise is from the CV axel?

FYI, I replaced all engine/tranny mounts two years ago. Three months ago I replaced the sway bar/end links, quick struts on all four tires, and had an alignment done where the shop said my pass. side wheel hub was bad, so that is done as well. The bushings on the LCA's look good, but they are the originals as is the left wheel hub, but that seems solid also. (I'm the original owner of this car). Thanks in advance.

In my experience any clicking noise made while turning is usually CV Axles even if there is no play in them. Since you have the lifetime warantty just replace it since the boot is ripped. Bad wheel hubs usually will make a growling noise rather than a clicking. After replacing the axle i think your noise should be gone. If not it could be coming from the pass cv axle

Thanks for the info. I called Autozone and they will give me another under warranty. I'll put it in this weekend and see what happens.

I willl never buy autopuke parts again. Ive bought a new half shaft for my old blazer. 3 months later the boot was ripped. I replaced it under warranty, only to have the same thing happen again. Nothing was touching or rubbing the boot. This isnt the only problem I had with autopuke, Many wrong parts and terrible service.

I got a autozone driver axle and a car quest passenger side. 12k miles on both and they look brand new not a dam problem.
